Reliable animal health care depends on access to quality veterinary medicines. Alfasan Uganda was established to contribute to that access through local manufacturing of veterinary pharmaceuticals and other animal-health products.
The company was incorporated in 2009 as a joint venture between Alfasan Nederland B.V., Cygnus B.V., Qualivet B.V. and Farm Support Ltd. The factory foundation stone was laid at Kampala Industrial and Business Park in 2013, and the facility was commissioned in April 2016.
Local production is part of a wider effort to strengthen Uganda’s veterinary-pharmaceutical capacity. Manufacturing, distribution and responsible use all matter: farmers should seek guidance from qualified animal-health professionals and use veterinary medicines according to their approved labels.
