Uganda and neighboring markets relied heavily on imported veterinary medicines. The partnership set out to build local manufacturing capacity and improve the availability of quality animal-health products.

How Alfasan helped
Alfasan Nederland brings veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturing experience and product expertise to the joint venture. The Uganda operation was established to manufacture products locally in a phased programme.

How we work together
Alfasan Nederland works with Cygnus B.V., Qualivet B.V. and Farm Support Ltd through the Alfasan Uganda joint venture. The partners combine international veterinary-pharmaceutical experience with local operations and market knowledge.
04 / THE OUTCOME
Results and impact
The joint venture commissioned a veterinary-pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Kampala Industrial and Business Park in 2016. Its phased production programme was designed to expand local availability of veterinary medicines. No unverified outcome figures are stated here.
