Alfasan Uganda grew from a partnership that combined international veterinary-pharmaceutical experience with a long-standing local presence. Farm Support Ltd represented the Alfasan brand in Uganda, while Alfasan Nederland B.V., Cygnus B.V. and Qualivet B.V. joined the venture to establish local production.
The company was incorporated in 2009. Construction followed at Kampala Industrial and Business Park, where the factory foundation stone was laid in 2013. The facility was commissioned in April 2016.
The project reflects a wider opportunity for Uganda: building local manufacturing capability for veterinary medicines and animal-health products. Its continued value depends on quality, responsible distribution and close attention to the needs of livestock keepers.
