Education & skills

Makerere CoVAB biomedical laboratory technology students visited Alfasan's Namanve vaccine facility to connect classroom learning with GMP practice.

On 13 October 2023, third-year students from Makerere University's College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Biosecurity visited the anti-tick vaccine manufacturing facility at Namanve. The college reported that the study tour was designed to strengthen students' understanding of practical vaccine Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), quality assurance, and quality control.

Learning through industry exposure

Visits like this help students see how facility design, equipment, procedures, and quality systems work together in regulated production. The account is a documented learning visit; it is not a claim of a recurring training programme or a quantified employment outcome.

Alfasan welcomes practical links between education, research, and manufacturing that help build relevant skills for Uganda's animal-health sector.
