Local manufacturing

Alfasan Uganda was incorporated in 2009 and its Namanve facility was commissioned in 2016 to manufacture veterinary pharmaceuticals and animal-health products.

Uganda Investment Authority records that Alfasan Uganda was incorporated in 2009 to manufacture veterinary pharmaceuticals and other animal-health products. The foundation stone for the Namanve facility was laid in April 2013, and the factory was commissioned on 21 April 2016.

Local production, local capability

Manufacturing in Uganda is part of a broader effort to build technical capability closer to the livestock keepers and veterinary professionals who rely on animal-health products. The authority described expected benefits at commissioning, including technology transfer, training, and access to quality veterinary medicines. These were projections and intended benefits, not verified current impact figures.

We will report measurable outcomes such as local skills development, workforce data, and access improvements only when they are confirmed and approved for publication.
